EL USO DE LA FOTOGRAFÍA COMO RECURSO DOCENTE PARA LA INTERPRETACIÓN DEL TERRITORIO EN EL AULA: LAS POTENCIALIDADES DE GEOPHOTOPEDIA

En este trabajo se analizan las relaciones entre la docencia universitaria de la Geografía, y el uso de la fotografía como recurso. Se cuanti caron las guras y fotografías contenidas en diferentes manuales universitarios y de bachillerato, observándose profundas diferencias entre ambos tipos. Asimismo, se constató cierto abandono del uso de los manuales en el paso de las enseñanzas medias a las superiores por parte del alumnado. Para paliar esta tendencia al desuso de la bibliografía recomendada por el profesorado, se propone el uso en clase del recurso Geophotopedia: un repositorio fotográ co gratuito y on-line de imágenes con contenido territorial con casi 250 colaboradores, y más de 12.000 fotografías.

Abstract: 

The aim of this paper is analyze the relationship between university teaching of geography, and the use of photography as a teachin resource. Figures and photographs in different college and high school textbooks were counted, showing profound differences between both. Morover, certain abandonment of the use of the manuals in the passage from highschool to university by students was found. To alleviate this trend to the disuse of the recommended literature, the use of Geophotopedia as a teaching resource is proposed: a photographic image repository with territorial content, classi ed and updated by geographers, which currently has nearly 250 collaborators, and more than 12,000 photographs.

Cet article est consacré à l’analyse des relations entre l’enseignement universitaire de la géographie et l’utilisation de la photographie en tant que ressource pédagogique. Pour ce faire, les gures et photographies contenues dans de différents manuels universitaires et de l’enseignement secondaire ont été quanti ées. Des différences notables ont été observées entre les deux types de manuels. Aussi a-t-on remarqué un certain abandon de l’utilisation des manuels à partir du baccalauréat. Pour y remédier, on propose l’usage de la Géophotopédia, une base de données gratuite et en ligne de photographies chargées de contenu territorial, qui a été nourrie par plus de 250 collaborateurs et qui contient actuellement plus de 12000 photographies.
