FIELDWORK AND GEOGRAPHICAL COMPETENCES AS A WAY TO MOTIVATE THE STUDY OF GEOGRAPHY: APPLICATION IN A SECONDARY SCHOOL GROUP

Abstract
The experience carried out in the 2nd course of General Certificate of Secondary Education (Bachillerato) is introduced to pretend to stimulate the students to take a University Degree in Geography starting from the premise that they do not know exactly which job opportunities and work instruments the profession has. This experience is based on the analysis about a space near to the high school consisting of a lesson in the classroom and a field work. The process and the prepared materials are explained and an assessment based on site records filled by the students is carried out.
